Passive Low-Energy Nuclear-Recoil Detection with Color Centers

چکیده
Crystal-damage events such as tracks and point defects have been used to record detect radiation for a long time recently they proposed means dark-matter detection. Color centers can be read out optically we propose scheme based on selective plane illumination microscopy micrometer-scale imaging of large volumes corresponding kilogram mass detectors. This class detectors would passive operate at room temperature call this the low-energy optical color-center nuclear-recoil (PALEOCCENE) detection method. We apply these concepts reactor neutrinos using coherent elastic neutrino nucleus scattering (CE$\ensuremath{\nu}$NS). formation energies are intrinsically order 25 eV, resulting in similarly low thresholds. enable observation reactor-neutrino CE$\ensuremath{\nu}$NS with small 10 g. Additionally, competitive search spin-dependent down $0.3$ GeV could possible. Passive crystal might also attractive nuclear-nonproliferation safeguards if monitor power put limits plutonium production. The nature footprint implies that fit well within accepted reactor-safeguards operations.

Nuclear Exclusive and Semi-inclusive Physics with a New CLAS12 Low Energy Recoil Detector
The 11 GeV beam of the upgraded Jefferson Lab combined with the CLAS12 detector provides a unique opportunity to investigate the internal structure of nuclei and to understand the effect of the nuclear matter on the structure of hadrons. It also allows us to study the properties of QCD by measuring the internal structure of hadrons themselves and by studying the spectrum of the QCD bound states...
متن کاملLow Energy Nuclear Reactions
Character and Role of Theory Storms’ view of where and how low energy nuclear reactions (LENR) occur has been called a theory, so we begin with an examination of the character of a scientific theory. A compact summary about theory in any science is available in Wikipedia: “A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world, based on a body of facts that ...
متن کاملEnergy transfer among color centers in LiF crystals
In colored LiF crystals there are many absorption and emission bands which cover a wide region of the spectrum from 200 up to 1 300 nm without breaking the continuity. In the frame of these favourable conditions we have performed some experiments of energy transfer among various color centers. The results indicate the existence of efficient exchanges of radiative energy among several bands by u...
متن کاملNuclear g factor measurement with Recoil-into-Vacuum method
The recoil-in-vacuum (RIV) [1] is a method utilizing hyperfine interaction to measure the nuclear g factors for excited states with pico-second lifetimes. It has drawn a lot of attentions recently because of advantages over transient field (TF) method for applications to radioactive beams. The RIV was first introduced in the 1970’s but was seldom used due to the difficulty in calibrating the hy...
